Find the right category
Settings are organized around Appearance, Terminal, Shortcuts, Snippets, Keys & Security, AI, Integrations, Account & Sync, and Help & Diagnostics. Available controls vary by release and device. Use settings search where offered instead of assuming a setting stayed in an older location.
Visual preferences change how you work with the app; they do not alter a server's permissions or make an untrusted route safe.
Tune the terminal
- Open Settings → Terminal.
- Under Appearance, adjust the font, size, cursor and palette, using the preview to check readability.
- Under Interaction, review completion, bell feedback, zoom and other supported input controls.
- Under Advanced, change emulation, scrollback or rendering options only when you understand the need.
- Test the result in a non-sensitive session before applying it to your everyday workflow.
Character-width and input-method options can matter for East Asian text. A rendering adjustment can improve display behavior, but it does not repair an incorrect remote locale or missing font on another machine.
Keyboard and mobile controls
Review Shortcuts for the bindings available on your platform. Operating systems, browsers and remote applications can reserve the same key combination. Confirm terminal focus and use visible copy or paste controls when a shortcut is intercepted.
Touch zoom, hardware-button actions, haptic feedback and sleep prevention depend on device support. Keeping the display awake is not a guarantee that an operating system will preserve every background connection.
